🎅🏼 The Christmas Season of Giving Has Begun at Lehighton Elementary! 🦌

The Christmas season is here, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate kindness, generosity, and community spirit! This year, the Lehighton Elementary Center is proud to take part in two meaningful fundraisers to help those in need; Toys for Tots and Trees for Troops.

Toys For Tots Car Show And Gift Collection | Johnson's Farm - Pumkin Picking, Hayrides, Pick Your Own

Toys for Tots

We are once again participating in the Toys for Tots campaign organized by the local Marine Corps. A collection box is located in the K–2 foyer, and donations will be accepted until December 4th. We welcome new, unwrapped toys that are appropriate for children up to age 14. Each donation helps bring joy to a child in need this holiday season.

Registration information, including requirements and guidelines for eligible families, can be found here. If you have any questions, please contact our school counselor for more information.

Trees for Troops - MCTA

Trees for Troops

We are also supporting the Trees for Troops foundation through Yensers, a local tree farm. Each year, The Christmas Spirit Foundation and FedEx work with businesses and individuals nationwide to provide real Christmas trees to U.S. military families stationed both at home, in the United States, and overseas.

Our school will be raising funds for this project in two special ways:

  1.  Pajama Day – Wednesday, November 26th, students may bring $1 to wear their pajamas on the half day before Thanksgiving break. For every $30 raised, a student will handwrite a personal message that will be sent with a Christmas tree to a military family.

  2. Families also have the opportunity to contribute by sending in $30 to purchase a Christmas tree for a military family. A tag will be sent home for families to complete with a personal message for the receiving family.

Together, let’s share the spirit of giving and make this season brighter for children and families near and far. Thank you for your generosity and support — it truly makes a difference!

Warm holiday wishes,
The Lehighton Elementary Staff & Community

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

1. Late Students

The doors to the elementary center are open at 8:05 AM, and closed at 8:25 AM sharp. If you are dropping your student(s) off any time after the doors are closed, you MUST come into the building with them and sign them in. They are considered tardy, at this time. Students may NOT just be dropped off to enter late, alone.

2. Cafeteria Money

Cafeteria money needs to be in an envelope/sandwich bag  with the child's first and last name as well as their pin number.  Do not send money with just a sticky note and name only.

3. Parent Dismissal During the School Day

If for some reason you must remove your child from school during the day, please indicate your intent by sending a notice (including day, time, purpose) to the classroom teacher. The child will be dismissed through the office and not from the classroom. Please adhere to this practice for the safety and welfare of your children. Parents/Guardians are required to sign the appropriate ledger in each elementary building office." Once the note is received by the teacher it will be forwarded to the office.

4. Student End of Day Dismissal

Students are dismissed at 3:05. Walkers are dismissed on the Kindergarten - 2nd grades' main entrance and riders come out through the 3rd - 5th grades' main entrance. Students are called down to the busses in three waves (Maroon, White and Gray) the first wave beginning to load up around 3:10 and the final wave departing around 3:30. On days there are early dismissals the dismissal time begins at 1:05
